Alec R. Costandinos - Trocadero Bleu Citron (1978)

Alec R. Costandinos - Trocadero Bleu Citron (1978)

Released on the heels of Alec R. Costandinos' 1978 collaboration with Raymond Knehnetsky as Paris Connection, Trocadero Bleu Citron finds the two continuing their collaboration. Knehnetsky again arranges and conducts while Costandinos produces and composes the songs with some assistance from Arthur Simms. The album is in fact a soundtrack to Michael Schock's film Trocadero Bleu Citron, making it yet another conceptual effort by Costandinos. The side one-spanning, 16-minute "Trocadero Suite" is the standout moment here, though the dancefloor favorite "Grooves" also deserves recognition, even if it's far too brief for its own good.
